NaviServ, a start-up company from St Petersburg, is a solution provider for the ERP-Solution Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
When looking for a software solution to manage and control their production orders in their different plants, IKP, a manufacturer of plastic containers, contacted NaviServ. Microsoft Dynamics NAV did not fulfil all their planning requirements so NaviServ offered an extended solution: the standard production planning is performed by Microsoft Dynamics NAV whereas for the specific control of the production orders the data from Dynamics NAV are transferred to an additional, newly developed Gantt chart application, built as a web based stand-alone solution.
The web architecture is required to grant all plants access to the SQL database of Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
To realize the additional Gantt chart application NaviServ uses NETRONIC´s VARCHART XGantt .NET Edition.

MontageManager is a human resource management application for installation works based on VARCHART XGantt. It is started from LotusNotes, the data being exchanged via XML files. The application shows two Gantt charts. The top one displays existing tasks of staff members. The bottom chart represents a container that holds tasks which were not yet assigned to staff members. By drag & drop, tasks can be exchanged between the two charts. Tasks can be extended, reduced or moved.
Different task types beside installation tasks can be created. When the cursor comes close to a task, essential data of it pop up. The staff members belong to groups. By a group filter, the tasks that do not belong to a group are displayed in a lighter color and are excluded from editing. More functions and charts make MontageManager a concise map of the current state and a highly efficient tool for human resource management.
