Application Area - Service Management
T-Systems is one of the leading service providers in terms of information and communication technology in Europe. T-Systems' sectoral solutions for airports ranges from apron and terminal control to air traffic, passenger and cargo management.
The VARCHART JGantt component of NETRONIC is used to support the allocation of tasks to resources visually. One example is the scheduling of a bus driving task for passengers from the terminal to the plane, another one the occupation of parking lots by air planes.
The chart displays for what time and for which plane check-in counters are scheduled. The scheduling of objects is not completely automated, but can also be accomplished manually. The top line in the chart serves as a stock for clearances not yet allocated. From that hold line, the managing clerk simply by drag and drop can schedule a check-in counter. Conflicts due to limited capacity or to interfering rules are displayed by special colors (red) and therefore become conspicuous immediately.
Says Hendrik Löhn of the Project Center Air Travel and Solution Service Center Services: "After having used NETRONIC products for a couple of years, VARCHART JGantt homogeneously blends in our modern software architectures. It has enhanced versatility and productivity in our applications".
ARMS - the Airport Resource Management System is based on VARCHART XGantt. The ARMS Module is designed for the planning, optimisation and management of the airport resources (infrastructural, mobile and personnel resources).
The component provided by NETRONIC Software is used to display and modify the state of the resources' usage in a simple and efficient way.
Important flight information is displayed on the bars; color changes highlight a flight's change of state: landing, approaching, etc. for arrival flights; check-in opening, boarding, etc. for departure flights.
Critical situations, conflicts and demands of re-allocation of resources caused by delays or by other changes of the schedule are appropriately highlighted.
In addition, it is possible to change the allocation of resources by simple "drag & drop" operations.
The application (called AZGOAL) is based on VARCHART XGantt and allows to display aircraft rotation on airports, along with any planned or extra maintenance and technicians assigned to it.
The three hierarchical display levels are:
- The aircraft on ground (transit)
- The planned maintenances on that transit
- The technicians assigned to that maintenance.

Key Features of the VARCHART XGantt integration:
- Real-time Work Order GANTT views
- Work Flow against existing Templates or create new Templates
- Graphical manipulation of tasks
- View resource demand and availability by day/shift/skill
- View progress
- View Non-Routine Probability
- Printable GANTT chart
OpenAIR has been implemented for large airlines such as British Airways, Continental Airlines, FedEx and Singapore Airlines as well as major third party maintenance providers such as FLS Aerospace.
With real-time check status and progress information provided to your mechanics, production controllers, material controllers and planning staff, every employee is knowledge empowered to support their role in reducing maintenance downtime, without compromising safety.
Planilog provides a powerful expert system for Maintenance/MRO projects in the aviation industry. Based on VARCHART XGantt, the system supports heavy certified maintenance as well as standard maintenance scheduling (interactive or automatic) for all types of aircraft:
- Structures
- Avionics
- Passenger area
- Wing structure and repair
- Painting
- Transit and layover tests and repairs
- and all other heavy and transit maintenance tasks
Planilog provides a simple low cost resource management and scheduling version (unlimited number of aircraft and locations). The company also provides a low cost automatic resource and multiple constraint scheduling version.
IFS Applications offers a versatile open portal framework that makes daily administration and reporting easier for end-users. IFS Applications is based on VARCHART XGantt and offers companies in the service and facilities management industries advanced Gantt chart functionality that allows users to view, schedule and optimize all service orders within the company.
Service technicians see their service orders graphically in their personal portal. Via the portal, they can directly access information such as the daily, weekly or monthly workload for a department, or service orders grouped by priority, work type, and finish date. Access to such information radically improves the daily administrative routines for service technicians and service managers.
Laps Care is a service management software, specifically designed for home care and is based on VARCHART XGantt. The Gantt chart shows tasks assigned to service staff and to clients.
