The Californian company Knowledge Relay offers a complex Operational Business Intelligence (OBI) EAM solution that helps business users to accelerate the decision cycle by reducing the time between collecting data and acting upon it.
Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)-intensive organizations such as nuclear power generators, petro-chemical refineries etc. have unique visualization requirements. Knowledge Relay’s Information Visualizer (IV) toolset that is part of the solution provides the robust visualization options that EAM organizations must have and uses VARCHART XGantt and XNet for creating high-function visuals.
Gantt and PERT charts are "must-haves” for nuclear power generators in a refueling outage for example.
“NETRONIC’s XGantt and XNet products provide the unique features our clients need to empower them to visualize nearly any process or project. We simply cannot find the same robustness in any other toolset,” says Steven Mauss, President of Knowledge Relay.
One of the most successful specialists to support medical organizations in managing their resources is Esh Software Design & Implementation, located in Ontario, Canada. Since 1998 the company offers the award-winning hospital management software solution Esh-IGT.
In the integrated patient-oriented solution, all information on a patient’s condition and state of therapy is available at all times: from the admission, during the hospital stay until the completion of the final examination. To visualize the room schedule, Esh-IGT uses the VARCHART XNet ActiveX control of NETRONIC. The patient’s data appears as a block in the column of the examination room.
VARCHART XNet supplies all continuously updated information and all changes of the patient’s case and state of therapy immediately to the examination rooms, so physicians have easy access to the current data of their patients.
"The decision to use VARCHART XNet was done because it is the best tool to use for scheduling patients by rooms and to track the patient’s status by using colour indicators. Esh software was very pleased from the service and customisations accomplished by the NETRONIC team." Ziv Shnitzer, president of Esh Software.
The Reifenhäuser Software Consulting GmbH is a distribution partner of the Automation + Productivity AG. Reifenhäuser does not only support medium-sized companies in selecting and implementing the ERP solution APplus but also adapts the software to the need of the customers if necessary. Moreover, Reifenhäuser develops individual solutions for their customers.
When the company IMS Messsysteme GmbH was looking for a suitable solution for the resource scheduling of their service engineers, they consulted Reifenhäuser Software. IMS is one of the leading manufacturers of industrial X-ray, isotope and optical measurement systems for the steel, aluminium and metalworking industry.
As the company has an international network of branches, it was essential for the resource scheduling to cover the implementing as well as the maintenance and repair orders of all plants all over the world. In collaboration with IMS, Reifenhäuser Software has developed an additional graphical planning table to provide a better overview of the scheduling and the service assignments. For that purpose, the data of the APplus system is visualized by the charting component VARCHART JGantt.
"We decided to use the JavaBean component of NETRONIC for scheduling the service assignments. By defining layers with dynamic filters and dynamic colors we could quickly develop a complex, interactive planning table that also allows scheduling by staff as well as by plants," says Rainer Becker, general manager of Reifenhäuser Software Consulting GmbH.
T-Systems is one of the leading service providers in terms of information and communication technology in Europe. T-Systems' sectoral solutions for airports ranges from apron and terminal control to air traffic, passenger and cargo management.
The VARCHART JGantt component of NETRONIC is used to support the allocation of tasks to resources visually. One example is the scheduling of a bus driving task for passengers from the terminal to the plane, another one the occupation of parking lots by air planes.
The chart displays for what time and for which plane check-in counters are scheduled. The scheduling of objects is not completely automated, but can also be accomplished manually. The top line in the chart serves as a stock for clearances not yet allocated. From that hold line, the managing clerk simply by drag and drop can schedule a check-in counter. Conflicts due to limited capacity or to interfering rules are displayed by special colors (red) and therefore become conspicuous immediately.
Says Hendrik Löhn of the Project Center Air Travel and Solution Service Center Services: "After having used NETRONIC products for a couple of years, VARCHART JGantt homogeneously blends in our modern software architectures. It has enhanced versatility and productivity in our applications".
ARMS - the Airport Resource Management System is based on VARCHART XGantt. The ARMS Module is designed for the planning, optimisation and management of the airport resources (infrastructural, mobile and personnel resources).
The component provided by NETRONIC Software is used to display and modify the state of the resources' usage in a simple and efficient way.
Important flight information is displayed on the bars; color changes highlight a flight's change of state: landing, approaching, etc. for arrival flights; check-in opening, boarding, etc. for departure flights.
Critical situations, conflicts and demands of re-allocation of resources caused by delays or by other changes of the schedule are appropriately highlighted.
In addition, it is possible to change the allocation of resources by simple "drag & drop" operations.
The application (called AZGOAL) is based on VARCHART XGantt and allows to display aircraft rotation on airports, along with any planned or extra maintenance and technicians assigned to it.
The three hierarchical display levels are:
- The aircraft on ground (transit)
- The planned maintenances on that transit
- The technicians assigned to that maintenance.

Planilog provides a simple low cost resource management and scheduling version (unlimited number of aircraft and locations). The company also provides a low cost automatic resource and multiple constraint scheduling version.
IFS Applications offers a versatile open portal framework that makes daily administration and reporting easier for end-users. IFS Applications is based on VARCHART XGantt and offers companies in the service and facilities management industries advanced Gantt chart functionality that allows users to view, schedule and optimize all service orders within the company.
Service technicians see their service orders graphically in their personal portal. Via the portal, they can directly access information such as the daily, weekly or monthly workload for a department, or service orders grouped by priority, work type, and finish date. Access to such information radically improves the daily administrative routines for service technicians and service managers.
Laps Care is a service management software, specifically designed for home care and is based on VARCHART XGantt. The Gantt chart shows tasks assigned to service staff and to clients.
