Helios-IT, located in Belgium and the Netherlands, is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and focuses on the automotive and beverage industry. Helios-IT developed an add-on solution using VARCHART XGantt for their client Boucherie.

Boucherie is a manufacturer of machines for making brooms as well as household and industrial brushes. For an efficient planning of the extensive and diverse machine shop for the toothbrush production cells a graphical scheduler became critical.

Helios-IT replaced the existing ERP system with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The production and resource planning charts within Dynamics NAV were realised using VARCHART XGantt. As these Gantt charts can be customized by using a VARCHART XGantt license from NETRONIC Software GmbH, Helios could easily add the extensions in order to fulfil the requirements of the Boucherie machine shop. The two main requirements for the scheduler are:

  • Planning of complex production orders
  • Micro-planning the shop floor

The Microsoft Dynamics NAV system in combination with a customized Gantt Chart enables Boucherie today to make better planning decisions and work more efficient then before.

Dacore data base systems has developed a planning software that visualizes and schedules orders for different levels of an enterprise and that is based on VARCHART XGantt. Orders are visualized directly from the data of order administration and can be assigned to resources easily by drag & drop.

Individual calendars display the availability of a resource in detail. For holidays and other workfree periods a separate view can be used and scheduled dates are directly passed on to Microsoft Outlook or to the time recording software. Filters and the simultanous display of different planing levels even with numerous orders results in instant and concise charts. Different selection options allow to mark for example all orders of the same customer. Different time grids, zoom and printing functions complete the range of functions of this planning software.

JobScheduler is used to set up production times for the printing and binding shops of graphical industries. It shows resources load, evidence problems (overload, delay etc.) and allows the operator to move tasks among different compatible machines.

The ICARO production plan management started from the longstanding experience in the field of the management of manufacturing processes to supply the planning and production plants management people with a simple and powerful decision making support.

ICARO is based on VARCHART XGantt and allows you to operate interactively on the active production plan so as to manage, in relation to a short period, situations different from what had been scheduled, due, for example, to breakdowns, to operators or resources unavailability, to delays in material delivery. The user has a set of procedures at his disposal that automates and controls the plan interventions, so as to provide operative solutions to the jobs and machine load planning, following the requested delivery dates and the plant production capability. ICARO can easily be interfaced with ERP and MES systems.

The graphical production control panel by JOOP is a VARCHART XGantt application which allows the supervisors to schedule and to monitor ongoing production tasks.

The module Tool Construction is based on VARCHART XGantt and comprises planning, production and statistics / evaluation of the tools registered in the production plan of a device to be produced. In the production plan, for each production step of a device, the required tools / pieces lists of the tools can be allocated. Tool construction planning is done graphically by using Gantt charts. After dispatching, production orders for the tools to be produced are generated and can be printed as a chart. Different types of orders can be generated: orders for new productions, for replacements, for mending and overhauling. By periodical notifications the actual state of construction is realised and compared to the plan.

Different types of evaluations document the construction process of a new tool. To monitor the life cycle of a tool, a statistics on its use and a history of its repair and overhauling events are maintained.

The K.I.S. information system for plastics is a ERP/PPC system that has been designed for use in practice of the plastics processing industry. The graphical control panel that has been added is a comfortable module to plan in detail multi-level production orders.

At a glance the user can recognize the particular state of the ongoing production. In the panel, orders can be assigned quickly and comfortably to machines by drag & drop. The graphical display

based on online data from the production (production and machine data acquisition) allows for optimum present state planning in detail.

All the important information of the production process is present in the control planel. The user can recognize deviations promptly; he can interfere and settle the problems immediately. Integrated disposability analyses allow to verify the feasibilty of intended actions. All data relevant for planning can be accessed by the user.

The Media-Planung control panel is the pivotal application in the DISO software, a solution for printing shops and industries based on VARCHART XGantt. In this client-server application all changements of planning are displayed graphically as colored bars.

A user can move the tasks, that are displayed as bars, simply by drag & drop to a different machine or to a different day. Interactions are checked for a number of plausibilities to ensure a failure-free flow of tasks. Messages from the machines are also graphically displayed to inform the user on current operations and their present state.

 

 



Thinkware Software, Apeldoorn, The Netherlands

Thinkwise Software has developed a new graphical planning tool for ERP. It enables users to display a Gantt chart, to calculate "what-if" scenarios and to put up their plannings.

For this, two VARCHART XGantt components were connected in parallel. In the top chart, working times are displayed while in the bottom chart calculations and their results are indicated. Applying NETRONIC components allows for maximum versatility; problems are easy to solve. Getting an application to run is just comfortable. One can focus on the problems of the customer easily during the programming process. The support offered by NETRONIC proved very helpful and added to improve code efficiency and performance.
