Application Area - Project Management
Based on VARCHART XGantt, the AKD project management (AKD PM) supports enterprises during all phases of a project from the start to the final reporting. Meeting deadlines is a special concern of the software. It is managed by various escalation options.
A total view of the Gantt chart has been integrated to keep both, the details and the overview. This enables analyzing procedures precisely and continuously, as well as recognizing critical phases at an early stage. AKD PM also offers specific project files for all staff members, that they can access according to their authorization. AKD PM can therefore be used as a source of information by all employees of an enterprise.
The software Strategic Project Performance Management (SPPM) is based on VARCHART XGantt and is a system to plan, monitor and implement long term initiatives that are crucial for the success of an enterprise, such as:
- Changes of orientation in the enterprise strategies or change projects
- Large customer projects, such as factory construction
- Critical F&E projects (such as designing new product families)
- Approval marks and other legal demands (such as Sarbanes-Oxley)
By using NETRONIC VARCHART XGantt ASP.NET we apply a highly versatile software component in our product development, which has considerably accelerated the market entry of our new product. Our customers can plan and control their key projects in a transparent and well-structured way. They can put their strategy succefully into practice, says Heike Bechler, product manager of CUBUS AG.
These are the features by which NETRONIC convinced:
- State-of-the-art software components
- Applicability on the web
- Interactive components for a view to detailed focal points
- Customizing options such as modifying icons, colors or scaling to meet the demands of different customers
- Prompt and flexible support that meets demands on extensions quickly and adequately
Survey of initiatives with the option of flexible grouping (according to phases, types, business units, strategic relevance etc.). Apart from status and trends of budget, quality and dates, the Gantt graph displays the risk, the attractiveness and a timeline for the duration of the initiatives, including milestones.
MEYER WERFT GmbH is a shipyard enterprise. Founded in 1795, it is held by the sixth generation of the Meyer family today and has entered the cruise liner market in the 1980s. Meyer Werft has integrated VARCHART JGantt as an extended functionality in project management for process control. A computation module by SAS Institute GmbH accomplishes reporting and analysis of data, while VARCHART JGantt by NETRONIC Software GmbH supplements the visually interactive planning tool.
As a result of extending ship size, higher demands and increasing complexity go along with narrowing time slots. They require fast response times; the planning staff can solve problems faster and in a much more comfortable way now by using VARCHART JGantt. The tool adds greater efficiency to the work flow schedule, so the recent challenges in terms of quality and quantity can be met by a constant level of staff.
Lean Project Planner has been developed with the Lean Construction Method in mind and complies with the way the method is used in practice. The tool is based on VARCHART JGantt and effectively supports proven principles which have previously been followed either manually or by other more or less efficient software. As the method dictates this tool works with three levels of planning:
The top level is a Process Plan which is prepared before the building process begins. There are 3 goals for this process plan:
- to secure a logical line of order for the activities
- to prepare the production
- to act as a foundation of measuring the status of the project.
