For the application to run the client and the server computer need to be connected to the internet or to an intranet. Two apparent advantages result from this architecture:

  • Additional software does not need to be installed on a user's computer, since merely a Java Script supporting webbrowser is required, which is present in most systems. This makes the client largely independent of platforms.
  • The processing logics of a web application can be modified centrally in a single place which is the web server, which considerably facilitates maintenance.

However, it should be taken into account that compared to desktop applications, asynchronous request cycles directed to the web server encounter tighter limits.

VARCHART JGantt JSF is geared to the Java platform and thus less dependent of a defined operating system. Your applications need to be developed in the programming language of Java.
