VARCHART XGantt - New in Version 4.1
Multi-State Fields
In the table of a Gantt Diagram you can now select a picture to be displayed in dependence of the content of a data field. Clicking on the icon will display the succeeding element of a list and will change the data value on which the graphics file is based.

Just as the VARCHART XGantt ActiveX Edition the .NET Edition is available in German now.
Scheduler Object can be Accessed by the API
The properties of the object Time Scheduling which, up to now, could only be set at design time, can now also be set at run time by the API. In addition, the results of time scheduling, i.e. the project start and end, are available as new properties.

Marking Lines
In the table and in the Gantt section rows can now be marked continuously throughout the line by a transparent or non-transparent color.
Transparent Colors
Transparent colors can be used for tables, layers and calendar grids.
Extended Data Structures
- The new data type Double allows for a more precise visualisation of resource capacity and resource occupation in the histogram.
- To identify data sets, composite keys can be used that can be assembled by up to three keys.
- Re-naming data fields now is possible also at run time. Data tables and data fields can now also be selected at run time.
Selected Columns for Printing
In the print preview you can select the table columns to appear in the output.
API Extended
- The event 'VcHelpRequested' was implemented to enable an application to invoke its own application-specific help when the user presses the F1 key in one of the provided dialogs at run time.
- The event 'VcTimeScaleModified' allows to synchronize the time scales of two VARCHART XGantt instances when modifying the resolution of the time scale interactively.
- Grouping and hierarchy can be switched on and off at run time.
- The layer height can be controlled by a map.
Modified Interactions
- When moving a node to a different diagram, not only a different line can be selected to drop the node, but also a different time position. So horizontal and vertical movements are simultaneously enabled.
- A node (including all its layers) can now be moved without having to select the node and without having to press the shift key.
- The frame in the world view that indicates the screen section can be modified in a more simple way now, since the sensitive area around it was expanded.
- Data tables and their corresponding fields can be edited at design time by a compound dialog.
ASP.NET Edition Uses Ajax
The VARCHART XGantt ASP.NET Edition uses AJAX automatically, if JavaScript is available in a web browser. The advantages are a screen picture free of flickering and the option to use additional tooltips.
Further Enhancements
- The pre-selection of the data format is adopted from the Windows systems settings.
- The speed of updating after user interactions was noticeably enhanced.
- The online help integrates into Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.
