VARCHART JGantt - Online Samples

VARCHART JGantt on the Internet

Java applications and therefore also the diagrams of VARCHART JGantt, can be integrated into an HTML file as an applet and can be run on the internet. This way, users can interactively work with the Gantt charts also on the internet. We have prepared some samples on this page for you to try. After invoking the samples offered below, it will take a little time until the applets have loaded, so please wait a few seconds.

Do you use Java runtime version 1.4 or higher? If you don't, please download here:

java.sun.com

(It is a known fault that applets run insufficiently in the Java run time enivronment 1.6 update 3. If you observe our applets to run erroneously, please install a later update on your computer.)

Project Management

Please click on the picture left to invoke an applet that shows a managed project. The data are arranged in hierarchical order. You can drag and drop single activities or groups of activities by mouse. By clicking on the RES or WBS button, you can add data to the table.

Scheduling a Project

Please click on the picture left to invoke an applet that displays a programming sample of a construction project. A part of the project activities form the "critical path", the sequence and duration of which are crucial to the project. Besides, the free and total float of the project activities are displayed. You can move single project activities and observe the changes entailed.

Control Center

By clicking on the picture you can invoke an applet that displays an example of a control center. In the lower instance of JGantt there are tasks that can be assigned to resources or resource groups by dragging them to the upper instance of JGantt. Tasks in the lower JGantt can be displaced and their durations can be altered by dragging the start or end dates separately. Via doubleclick on an assigned task you can enter a percentage of completion which then is indicated by a progress layer on the task.

Time Scale Sections

By clicking on the picture left you can invoke an applet that shows a time scale partitioned into sections of different resolution. Two sections of low resolution frame one of higher resolution, thus producing a "time lense" for a part of the Gantt graph. You can modify the size of the time scale sections, i.e. increase or reduce their size; the bars will adapt their size in proportional length.

Human Resource Management

By clicking on the picture below, an applet will be invoked that displays an example of human resource management in ship construction. In this example, functions of grouping are displayed: hierarchical grouping, and collapsing and expanding of subgroups by clicking on the +/-signs in the table. Beside, when moving an activity in the Gantt graph beyond the length of the summary bar, the latter will automatically adapt its size to the length of the modified group.

Please note that nodes can be marked simultaneously in the Gantt graph and in the table. If you mark a field in the table, automatically the corresponding header field in the top row of the table will be marked, as well as the corresponding activity in the Gannt graph.

Transport Logistics

By clicking on the picture left, you can invoke an applet that displays an example of transport logistics. The special shapes of the activity bars show that there are no limits to bar design. Please invoke the context menu of an activity by clicking on it using your right mouse button. You can then edit its data.
