Our generalized data model

What you should know in advance

1. We work with these main objects:

- Resources
- Activities
- Allocations
- Links

2. The data objects are enhanced by graphically relevant properties.

3. They can be completely updated at runtime by the application via API.

4. The business logic remains in the application. The widget is "only" used for visualization.

Schematische Darstellung Visual Scheduling Widget

The general architecture of the Visual Scheduling Widget - Standard Edition is based on the following principles:

1. The widget does not manage data within the Gantt chart. All data management functions as well as the
corresponding business logic takes place within the customer application.

2. Almost every mouse click on a graphical object (e.g. a Gantt chart bar or a resource row) in the file
The VSW SE triggers a bidirectional communication between the VSW SE and the application.
(see "Callback actions" and "Options/methods" in the following graphic).

3. This bidirectional communication leads to an exchange of objects, as you can see in the graphic.

Widget with extensive function package

You hardly need more functionality than in the Standard Edition

With the Visual Scheduling Widget - Standard Edition you can display two alternative Gantt views: a resource-centered and an activity-centered view. It supports a wide variety of interactions, such as selecting multiple resources, moving horizontally and vertically, dragging unallocated activities into the chart area, and more.

An overview of all functions can be found in the FDD (Funktional Definition Dokument) and IDD (Interface Definition Dokument).

Individual widget

Can't find the feature you need in the Standard Edition?

Describe to us the functional requirements that the planning board must present for use in your planning application. If you are not sure which functions you need, our planning board experts will be happy to help you evaluate the visualization requirement. We check whether the Standard Edition of our Visual Scheduling Widget covers your requirements. If this is not the case, we calculate the development gap, i.e. the effort we estimate for the additional functionality. After the preliminary work has been completed, we promptly create a first prototype for your individual HTML5/ JavaScript Gantt chart. Fast results as well as the agile and transparent cooperation with sufficient feedback loops ensure that you are significantly involved in the development process of your customized jQuery UI widget during all phases.

Discuss your visualization requirements with our planning board experts.
