Viewing the entire schedule - with all its dependencies - resulted in unprecedented transparency. From then on, communication between all the departments involved ran smoothly and less time-consuming, which naturally made production much more effective. "Our KPI for on-time delivery to customers has increased dramatically".

1.
Spend less time searching for information - in all the Business Central tables. The Visual Production Scheduler condenses them into one planning board.
Get a visual production plan and your resource utilization at one glance. See both the timing of your production order and the sequencing of your operations on your machines.
This makes bottlenecks, conflicts, and dependencies immediately tangible.
This transparency gives you back control over your plan - even in case of unforeseen events.
2.
You are again in control of your plan (and no longer dominated by firefighting and rushing from one issue to the other). You no longer have to react, but actively control your plan and production.
Even better: the Visual Production Scheduler is fully integrated into Dynamics 365 Business Central. That means that you never have to worry about all those nasty errors that can happen when you move data from your ERP to another solution that you use for scheduling (may it be Excel, a whiteboard, or another software).
Focus on what matters - clearly indicated by visual alerts in your planning board.
3.
The entire process becomes more transparent and easier to plan, especially with regard to completion dates, shipping companies, and the like. You can also plan several weeks into the future and see what will be done when.

The Visual Production Scheduler (VPS) is an extension (app) that fully integrates into the manufacturing module of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The interactive planning board visualizes production orders, production order lines, production order routing lines, work centers, machine centers, capacities, and shift calendars.
We offer two different visual production scheduling apps for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central: the Visual Production Scheduler (VPS) and the Visual Advanced Production Scheduler (VAPS).
This 60-minute in-depth video shows what both apps have in common and also how and why they differ. The video starts with planning production orders by Business Central only - without any visual scheduling extension. Then we add the power of a visual drag & drop scheduler (VPS) to it before we add more scheduling power such as finite capacity scheduling (VAPS).
The VPS has been completely integrated into Dynamics 365 Business Central as a page making use of the Dynamics 365 Business Central client extensibility framework. This integration allows for seamless collaboration.
Double-clicking on production orders for instance opens the production order card, while double-clicking on a work center correspondingly opens the work center card. All changes made in the VPS can get written back directly into the production orders.
Move the position of operations by simple mouse actions – horizontally to modify start and end dates or vertically to modify assignments to different work or machine centers.
The Visual Production Scheduler is not just an interactive Gantt chart. Apart from the time-related position of production orders and their allocation to resources it also shows the workload of the resources. When a production order is moved exceeding work/machine center capacities, a visual warning will be displayed enabling you to react immediately. This way, you can keep dates and capacities in check any time!
The Production Order View shows you all production orders at a glance. It primarily answers the question "Will I be ready on time?" and issues visual warnings in case of late production orders. It also shows dependencies between production orders (if you work with reservations). The Production Order View is grouped by production order status and allows you to easily use filters.
The Capacities View is grouped according to your work center groups and work centers. It primarily answers the question "How is the utilization of my machines / resources" and provides visual warnings in case of overloads. You can also use the capacity curve (histogram) to monitor the total utilization of a work center group and display this information by day, week or month. You can easily use filters in the Capacities View.
Our visual production planning meets the highest Microsoft quality standards because it is approved for and available on Microsoft AppSource. We provide an updated version of the VPS every quarter and submit each updated version for a new AppSource validation.
The introduction of the Visual Production Scheduler led to a 20% increase in machine utilization thanks to an improved order sequence. However, these were not the only benefits of the visual production scheduler: "The planning suddenly became independent of our production manager, because the overview now allows actually everyone to plan the orders. In addition, the planning process has become significantly quicker."

„Transparency was the key for us. With the VPS, our sales engineers are able to visually see their production orders and schedule deliveries and installations for their clients based on the indicated production end date. But we could solve a lot of other problems, as well“.
LENA MUTURI,
Production Coordinator
Of course, you can download the Visual Production Scheduler from Microsoft AppSource. With the download, you have the right to trial for 30 days.
However, we recommend that you do not just test it on your own.
Although visual, the Visual Production Scheduler has a lot of powerful (hidden) features. We want to make sure that you manage to unleash the full value of visual production scheduling, and hence we designed the Quick Start Package II to get you going both fast and purposeful.
Book a meeting with a visual scheduling expert to discuss how you can get going now.
